How To Install New Wiper Arms and Blades

Wipers

I know, wipers aren't exactly a complicated thing to replace, but since they need to be replaced, why not write down the steps?  Sort of like Wipers for Dummies.

I chose a set of of Bosch Micro Edge wipers for my Jeep. According to the Bosch catalog, Jeep Wranglers should use the 13 inch wipers.

In reality, these might be just a hair too long, but not enough to bother you.

To remove the wipers, lift them away from the windshield. Fold the wiper back on itself and you'll find a small tab. My finger is depressing the tab in this picture.

Press the tab into the wiper arm and pull towards your hand.

This image shows the wiper sliding off of the end of the wiper arm while the tab is being depressed.

Reinstallation is just as easy, except the wiper will get pushed into the wiper arm. Make sure you press the wiper into the arm until you feel it seat or click. Then you'll know you have a solid connection.
