Rosie's Jeep Night - the one and only

June 11, 2007 marks the first ever, and hopefully not the last, Rosie's Diner Jeep Night! Rosie's caters to all kinds of car events from pre-40's classics, musclecars and Truck Nights. This was the first Jeep night. We had about 11 Jeeps show up for the event and everyone hung around till about 9:00 PM just enjoying the evening.

The group of Jeepers that showed up were great people to meet and each enjoyed the Jeep hobby in a different way. Some like sky-high lifts, others like the new JK's, a couple liked the 1970's CJ style, some needed work, and some, like me, were just plan boring and were just happy to have a Jeep :)

Rosie's doesn't have a date for the next Jeep night, but the owner said that he would do one if there is any interest. So, drop me an email (jad@jeephobby.com) if you'd like to attend. I'd like to get a group together in late July.

In the picture below you can see the old diner car that is the original Rosie's Diner. Notice the little sign to the right side of the picture that says "BAR". Just wanted to point out that it isn't just a sign. Did I mention it was really hot on this day?

A small group discussing the finer points of "Built Jeep Tough with Chevy Stuff" - that's what the window banner says. Like I mentioned, we each enjoy the hobby in our own way.

Before we called it a night, we had the Jeeps gather in front of the Diner for a parting shot. We probably got a little ridiculous about "OK, now the girls, OK, now just the kids, etc...", but we had fun. Here is a photo of the guys.

Then a photo of just the Jeeps. This one was for Rosie's owner so he could get a good shot of the turn-out.

And now, get all of the girls on the Jeeps. We probably could've just done shots of the girls and everybody would've been happier.

Here are the big guys of the Jeep Night. These Jeeps have something like 40 inch tires on them. All of them showed up together. You could tell they all really enjoyed their hobby. Each of them had a Chevy V8 wedged in the engine compartment. When they left, the orange one actually had its tires come off the ground when he took a corner. At the point, my wife stated that I will never be allowed to raise our Jeep that high! I believe this is what we would have to call a Jeep Thing. She might understand someday.

Here is a beautifully restored 1960's CJ. The body is fiberglass which isn't surprising because trying to find a rust free 60's CJ is nearly impossible.
