On June 9, 2008 (Monday) at 6 PM, Rosie's had its second annual Jeep Night. Rosie's Diner was made famous by the Bounty Paper Towel commercials back when the diner lived in New Jersey. Now, the diner lives in Rockford, MI and besides having good food, a nostalgic atmosphere, the diner also hosts several car events throughout the year. The Jeep Night is just one hydrocarbon burning event.

We attended this event and met up with a dozen or so other Jeepers from around the area. This is a pretty low key event. Basically, it's just folks getting together during the work week to say hi and talk about what everybody is planning for the summer.
Here are some pictures of our evening. One of the families (Jim & Shannon) that we wheel with recently completed a complete overhaul on their Jeep and it drew a lot of attention. Between the new paint job and the Chevy 350 wedged between the fenders, the Jeep is a real head-turner. Jim has been getting a lot of questions about various parts of the project and he seems to know them all since he did the entire thing himself.

This looks like a typical Michigan evening, in June, with the clouds rolling in.

Here is a good picture of the lift on Jim and Shannon's Jeep. Orange is a popular color for repaints and you can see why - it just stands out and shouts.

The big Jeeps showed up a little latter and made all of our Jeeps look small. This group is from the CALA 4x4 Offroad Club which is out of the northern Kent County area. If you hang out at any of the big shows during the year like the Jeep Blessing you'll see them there. These guys are great and they seem to know a ton about Jeeps and how to get things done without breaking the pocket book.

That orange Jeep just keeps showing up in the pictures! By the way, that little tiny black Jeep on the far right with the silver tube bumpers, that's mine. Yea, I know, it's looking kind of small.

Just hanging out contemplating how am I going to lift my Jeep this high. I'm the guy in black with jeans.

Jeep Dog! Kind of looks like a praire dog sticking his head up.

Here's the latest new Jeep owners - Wendy and Dave. Actually, they owned a XJ in their long time past, but this is their first Jeep in a while. When they picked up the Jeep they went right to work and got a new top, wheels and a lift. Here again, they are putting me to shame.

The owner of the green Jeep, Aaron, is part of the CALA group and he showed up a little later because he was installing his new transfer case they he broke at this years Jeep Blessing. The green Jeep always draws a crowd.

Just a nice picture showing the Jeeps lined up in front of the diner.

Stay safe and may your Jeep stay in one piece.
